Can birth control pills keep you from losing weight?

I have been on birth control for like 2 1/2 years now. I also have hypothyroidism but finally got on the right dose of medicine to get it balanced. I lost 21 pounds so far. I work out 7 hours a week and eat 1200 calories a day. I am having trouble losing weight, could it be my birth control pills? They are the microgestin ones.
I was put on birth control to regulate my periods from 12 heavy days to 3, so please no lectures on taking birth control.

This is very possible. Speak to your GYN. Not taking the pills could also make you gain alot of weight for about 9 months.
that is very dangerous and you may not be able to have babies…
Just exersize
Birth control pills tend to make you carry a lot of water weight, so no matter how much you exercise, you’re not going to lose it. You could look into something like SlimQuick which is geared toward females and focuses on reducing water weight (whether this is healthy to do while on birth control, you’d have to check with your doctor). You could actually be carrying up to 15lbs in water weight, so it’s a decision you’d have to make, whether you want to stay on the pill or be taken off of it and be able to lose that weight. It’s really what’s more important to you. Good luck!
